This US comedy/drama stars Rachel Nichols (Continuum, GI Joe-Rise of the Cobra); Bruce Davison (X-Men, Ozark); Ed Begley Jnr (Arrested Development, A Mighty Wind); Michelle Hurd (Star Trek: Picard, Blindspot)

25 Miles To Normal brings festive chaos, family dysfunction and emotional twists together in a sharp, darkly funny reinvention of the family drama. Premiering at KIFF in an exclusive World Premiere, the film explores the messy, complicated relationships that sit beneath family traditions and forced celebrations.

What begins as an unusual Christmas gathering in September quickly unravels into something far deeper, as siblings Alex and Jane realise their unreliable father John may be hiding a shocking secret.

At its heart, 25 Miles To Normal is about the tension between appearance and reality — the stories families tell themselves, the secrets buried beneath nostalgia, and the struggle to hold everything together when life starts slipping off script.

Balancing humour with emotional honesty, the film captures the absurdity of family dynamics while asking how far we’ll go to protect the people we love.
