The Kingston International Film Festival (KIFF) is built through collaboration with the people, businesses, and organisations that make Kingston such a vibrant creative community.
As a growing South London film festival, KIFF brings together filmmakers, audiences, students, and local residents to celebrate cinema while supporting Kingston’s cultural and economic life.
Whether you are an individual film lover, a local business, or an organisation looking to support the arts, there are several ways to get involved and help the festival continue to grow.
Throughout the year, the KIFF team dedicates its time, energy and expertise to supporting arts, education and culture across Kingston, working closely with a wide range of local organisations to help creativity thrive at a grassroots level. From ongoing partnerships with Kingston College and Kingston University, to collaborative projects with Creative Youth, Kingston Heritage, and numerous other local cultural organisations, KIFF plays an active role in nurturing emerging talent, championing local stories and strengthening Kingston’s creative ecosystem.
What we do:
- Work placements for students at all stages of their education
- Client Brief projects for college and university level courses
- Presentation on Festivals, their importance to young filmmakers and how to navigate the pitfalls when submitting
- Workshops and industry panels featuring leading film organisations, offering valuable insights into career pathways in the creative industries
- A special awards category for “U18 short films” to encourage and foster young filmmakers
- A monthly film club in collaboration with Creative Youth to create a space for young filmmakers to come together and learn
This festival exists because of the community around it — the filmmakers, students, partners, volunteers and audiences who believe in the power of film and the arts to bring people together.
