KIFF YOUNG FILMMAKER PRIZE 2022

Updated: Feb 21, 2023

Following our successful Young Filmmakers Workshop at last year’s festival, we invited the participants to enter their films into our competition for a chance to win a fabulous prize sponsored by the Rotunda - pizza and bowling for the winner and their friends.

And the winner is…. ZAC DAVIES! (tumultuous applause!)

Aged 12 and from Teddington School, Zac’s short film, Macbeth, was an impressive stop frame animation entirely made with Lego. An inspired re-telling of the original story, shot on an iPad . His film showed an impressive eye for the gorier details and dark ironies of the story which he managed to incorporate with careful use of colour and editing.

Congratulations to Zac who shows true promise, and undoubtedly become a filmmaker of tomorrow. We look forward to welcoming him back next year as a KIFF Alumni. Zac’s Macbeth is available to watch on our KIFF YouTube channel and we heard he really enjoyed his prize!

Keep an eye on the website for details of more ways in which budding young filmmakers can be involved in KIFF this year.
