The KIFF Schools and Community Steering Group has been set up to assist with those in the Kingston upon Thames community who are interested in a career in the Film Industry. We hope to achieve this by working with schools and other community organisations and in particular with those less fortunate who might not have access to appropriate resources.
Our aim, in conjunction with the festival, is to develop a strong and diverse community of filmmakers in the borough of Kingston, and to aid our emerging talent to in their search for a career in the Industry. As such, we welcome any approaches or ideas to help us achieve this.
CURRENT PROJECTS:
Kingston College - Year 1
The students are producing a 2 min trailer promoting ‘Kingston International Film Festival’ taking place in June.
Kingston College - Year 2
The second year students are filming interviews with professional filmmakers as part of their course work.
Youth Steering Group
Our Youth Steering Group, consisting of 8 young filmmakers at the moment, is our youngest KIFF team. We work closely with them to ensure we are reaching our target audience of upcoming talent, while supporting these 8 people in their own projects.
